Blogging

The concept of blogging seems quite strange to me - people pouring out their thoughts and feelings onto a publicly listed webpage for the entire world (if it is so inclined) to see. On the other hand, maybe I shouldn't be so surprised given the nature of this facebook generation. The value of privacy has been greatly undermined in favour of sharing, connecting and perhaps a little bit of self-indulgence. Blogging basically allows us all to be journalists, authors and poets, albeit only published on the intimidatingly large world wide web. Of course, chances are that, given the size of the internet (not to mention the ridiculous number of blogs out there already), we will not be the widely read literary figures that we all aspire to be, but in our own minds we can dupe ourselves into believing that our words are touching hundreds and thousands of folk around the world. After all, what's wrong with the odd fantasy? At least this one's creative!
